Buffalo Gay Bingo
The name of the game is Gay Bingo, but you don't have to be gay to play!
Games are normally scheduled for the second Saturday of each month (except July and August) at Lafayette Presbyterian Church (875 Elmwood Avenue at Lafayette).
Admission is just $5, but most people opt to purchase a packet containing each game for $20 (which includes $25 worth of games). Prizes range from $50, $100, and $150, and specials with jackpots having reached over $700 in previous games. (Special game jackpots are based upon number of games sold.)
Gay Bingo is the primary fundraiser for the AIDS Plus Fund of WNY, Inc., a not-for-profit organization founded in 2003. The mission of the AIDS Plus Fund is to assist and support fundraising efforts for HIV/AIDS-related services by developing and implementing unique and innovative ways of raising funds for programs affected by funding cutbacks.
We serve as a community-based voice and conscience in the ongoing effort to educate and remind everyone that the war against HIV and AIDS is not over.
